College golf recruiting
RECRUITING ADVICE FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DESK.
A step-by-step plan for junior golfers and families, informed by JJ's NCAA coaching experience at Rice and Ohio State. The College Recruiting Playbook is the self-guided online program currently available. Local player development through the Varsity Group at Golf Performance Group is separate and is not a prerequisite.
JJ Wood and GPG report more than 100 college golfers developed through the Varsity Group. Recruiting guidance does not guarantee admission, placement, scholarships or a response from a college coach.
Tournament Planning
Build a tournament plan that fits the player's development, goals, level and available travel resources.
Coach Communication
Organize recruiting resumes and video, then plan clear, appropriate outreach and follow-up with college coaches.
Development Plan
Build the practice and performance work that has to happen alongside recruiting. Houston families can separately explore local development through the GPG Varsity Group.
